Hi folx! A quick introduction: I’m Kimberly, she/her, a 36 year old exvangenical artist and writer. I spent over a decade of my life in full-time vocational ministry before realizing that enough was enough. I didn’t see the Jesus I loved in the church around me anymore, so I stepped away with a very bruised heart. I’ve spent the last several years deconstructing and reconstructing the beliefs I once held so dear, working through my religious trauma, and trying to find a “new normal” for myself and my family. My goal is to raise a good human who is filled with strong values and compassion that doesn’t depend on a religious framework or fear of punishment.
White supremacy is an infection and I denounce it in the name of all that is sacred. If you are a white person, like me, it is OUR job to educate ourselves and our children, to examine our own biases, and to uproot white supremacy at the source: our own hearts and minds. Enough is enough!

This is my brother.
When I gave birth almost 7 years ago, it was with health insurance, a decent income, and a very supportive partner. For an uncomplicated and unmedicated vaginal birth, we were still charged thousands and thousands of dollars. We left the hospital after 24 hours and received almost no medical or clinical support. We had a child who was unable to transfer milk, who lost two whole pounds in the days after he was born, which was not caught until almost two sleepless weeks later.
